Ripple Partners With Stripe’s Privy to Expand XRP Ledger Wallets
Ripple has partnered with Privy, a Stripe-owned wallet infrastructure provider, to bring embedded wallets to the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The integration will let developers add XRP, RLUSD, and other digital asset payments directly into their apps without requiring users to manage private keys themselves.
The partnership also aims to support AI-powered payments and agentic commerce.
Ripple Brings Privy Wallets to the XRP Ledger
On October 13, Ripple confirmed the partnership on X, saying it will help developers add and manage XRPL wallets directly in their apps.
Privy’s tools will let developers create wallets, sign transactions, and support payments using XRP, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, and other digital assets on the network. Users will also keep control of their wallets.
They can export their private keys and seed phrases if they want to move their funds to another wallet.
For fintech companies and payment providers, this could make it easier to add stablecoin payments and digital asset services to their applications. Developers will be able to build with XRP, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, and other assets supported on XRPL.
Markus Infanger, SVP of RippleX at Ripple, said,
“Privy brings proven wallet infrastructure that makes it easier for fintechs and developers to bring XRPL into real products, from payments and stablecoin experiences to emerging forms of agentic commerce.”
AI-Powered Payments Could Expand XRPL Use
Beyond regular payments, the partnership will support agentic commerce, where AI agents can hold funds and make transactions through programmable wallets. The integration will also support x402 payments, a system used to enable payments between digital services.
This could allow developers to build applications where AI agents pay for services or complete transactions without requiring users to approve every step manually.
The exact features available will depend on how developers implement the technology and the controls they put in place.
XRPL Reports 8 Million Funded Accounts
The partnership builds on XRPL’s existing payment activity. However, the network has more than 8 million funded accounts and has moved over $1 trillion in value.
The announcement also stated that XRPL has processed 13 million agent payments, which account for roughly 25% of network activity.
Privy co-founder and CEO Henri Stern said, “Stablecoins are changing how money moves, and XRPL has been building for payments from the start.”
