OpenSea Unveils Free NFTs in Commemoration of MegaETH Mainnet Launch

The NFT marketplace OpenSea has released a collection that commemorates the launch of the MegaETH main network.

According to a tweet announcing the commemorative collection, the NFTs are free to mint on OpenSea. Notably, MegaETH is also live on OpenSea, meaning that the blockchain’s ecosystem has been integrated with OpenSea’s protocol and can be accessed by users.

Commenting on the announcement, OpenSea co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer, said: “Welcome @megaeth to OpenSea. We’ve always been excited about higher throughput chains unlocking more fully on-chain use cases. 100K+ tps is faster than credit card networks.”

MegaETH launched its real-time blockchain on February 9. Named The Rabbithole, the chain is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible layer-2 network that aims to tackle scalability issues using a unique architecture. The network streams transactions at lightning speed.

Now fully open to the public after years of testnets and development, The Rabbithole allows users to discover live and upcoming applications and bridge and swap assets from any chain. A user’s exploration in the ecosystem is driven by their personas and desires, rather than rigid app definitions. Apps are sorted in categories by service, ranging from trading and gaming to yield and credit, decentralized finance (DeFi), and culture and social.

One of the most exciting features of The Rabbithole is the chain’s prompt-based entrance. MegaETH says it was inspired by the world’s evolution from static, analog interfaces to natural language discovery. Users can ask questions about their desired services, and they receive curated answers rather than app lists.

So far, MegaETH has deployed and integrated dozens of chains on The Rabbithole, expanding users’ options. The network has also implemented some changes to ensure users have a smooth onboarding experience in the ecosystem.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that, before the launch of The Rabbithole, MegaETH released a soulbound NFT collection called The Fluffle. Launched to reward early supporters with future token allocations, The Fluffle consisted of 10,000 SBT NFTs, with the first minting phase taking place in mid-February 2025. MegaETH raised more than $13 million when it launched non-transferable collectibles.

With the SBT NFTs already launched, MegaETH is likely to unveil subsequent collections. Stay tuned for more updates!
