Sony’s Soneium Integrates NFT Cats Game for Season 8 of Its Scoring Program

Soneium, an Ethereum layer-2 network developed by Sony Block Solutions, a division of the entertainment giant, Sony, has integrated an NFT cats game for the new season of its scoring program.

According to a tweet, the game entails users owning, feeding, and nurturing living NFT cats, while engaging in ongoing interactive care and growth mechanics. This game, created by NekoCat World, introduces bonus quests that will help users throughout the just-commenced Season 8.

In August 2025, Soneium launched a scoring system to record on-chain activity and reward ecosystem contributors. This system has used 28-day quest cycles to monitor real usage and community interaction. Soneium scores over the past seven seasons are calculated from four components: activity, liquidity, NFT, and bonuses.

The activity score calculates daily on-chain activity through transactions, unique active days, and streaks. The liquidity score rewards contributions to total value locked across protocols integrated on Soneium, while the NFT score links Sony NFT Score and Ecosystem NFT Score categories based on users’ eligible holdings. For the bonus score, users receive extra points for engaging with each season’s featured projects.

In this season, Soneium is featuring four projects that provide diverse paths for ecosystem participation. They include NekoCat, Kami, Press A, and Startale App, which have been involved in previous seasons. Network participants will use the Startale App for daily GMs, Kami to mint NFTs, Press A for alpha gacha plays, and NekoCat for GMeow calendar check-ins and food shop mints for the living NFT cats.

Throughout the past seasons, Soneium has recorded millions of transactions and hundreds of thousands of users engaging with protocols and games. This time, the ecosystem intends to take the program a notch higher by bringing back the focus on interactions that encourage community exploration through the featured projects.

To reward participation, Soneium will issue Soulbound Tokens (SBT) as a verifiable record of on-chain activity to users who score 80 points or higher. SBTs are non-transferable digital assets permanently tied to a user’s wallet. While serving as proof of contribution to the Soneium network, the SBTs may give users exclusive access to perks, whitelist opportunities, special events, and future airdrops.
