Anthropic launches Cowork plugin updates letting enterprises build private AI agent marketplaces, with new connectors for FactSet, S&P Global, and Harvey.

Anthropic unveiled a major expansion of its Claude enterprise platform on February 24, allowing companies to build private plugin marketplaces and deploy customized AI agents across departments. The update arrives two weeks after the company closed a $30 billion Series G round at a $380 billion valuation.

The release transforms how enterprises can distribute AI tools internally. Admins can now create organization-specific marketplaces, pull plugins from private GitHub repositories, and auto-install tools for specific users. Think of it as an internal app store for AI agents—each one tailored to how different teams actually work.

Financial Services Gets the Spotlight

The plugin library expansion leans heavily into finance. New templates cover investment banking (deal document review, comp analysis, pitch prep), equity research (earnings parsing, model updates), private equity (document diligence, scenario modeling), and wealth management (portfolio drift analysis, rebalancing recommendations).

New connectors integrate Claude with FactSet, MSCI, S&P Global, and LSEG—the data infrastructure that institutional investors rely on daily. Harvey, the legal AI startup, also gets a connector, alongside Docusign and LegalZoom for contract workflows.

“Three waves have reshaped professional work: productivity tools, cloud and search, and now agentic AI,” said Sanjay Subramanian, Anthropic Alliance Leader at PwC, in the announcement. PwC is partnering with Anthropic to deploy these agents in CFO offices.

Cross-App Orchestration

Perhaps the most technically significant addition: Claude can now work across Excel and PowerPoint simultaneously, passing context between applications. Run an analysis in a spreadsheet, then have Claude build the deck—without copy-pasting or re-explaining the task.

It’s available now as a research preview for paid plans on Mac and Windows.

Admin Controls Get Granular

The backend improvements matter for IT teams evaluating deployment. A new “Customize” menu consolidates plugins, skills, and connectors in one dashboard. OpenTelemetry support lets admins track usage, costs, and tool activity across the organization.

Slash commands now launch with structured forms rather than free-text prompts—running “/generate report” feels more like filling out a brief than writing instructions from scratch.

Market Context

This release follows Anthropic’s February 5 update to Claude Opus 4.6, which targeted complex financial research workflows. The company reported a $14 billion annual revenue run rate heading into its Series G, suggesting enterprise adoption is driving substantial recurring revenue.

For enterprises already using Claude, the plugin marketplace creates stickiness—custom agents built on proprietary workflows don’t port easily to competitors. For those evaluating AI deployments, the finance-specific templates and data provider integrations lower the barrier to pilot programs in revenue-generating functions.

The Cowork updates are live now for all users. Enterprise admins can access the full provisioning and marketplace controls immediately.
