AMD introduces Versal Premium Gen 2 MoP, integrating 32GB LPDDR5X for higher bandwidth, reduced design complexity, and a 15+ year product lifecycle.
AMD has launched its Versal Premium Gen 2 Memory on Package (MoP) devices, pushing the boundaries of memory performance and system design. The new adaptive SoCs, announced on June 30, 2026, integrate up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory directly into the package, delivering up to 288GB/s of bandwidth while reducing the board area by up to 60% compared to traditional external memory setups.
This marks a significant development for applications requiring high memory bandwidth and compact form factors, such as data centers, telecom infrastructure, and defense systems. The MoP variant builds on AMD’s existing Versal Premium Gen 2 platform, which debuted in 2024, by combining tighter integration and pre-validation to streamline development cycles and lower design risks for system architects.

The Versal Premium Gen 2 MoP stands out with support for CXL 3.1 and PCIe 6.0 interfaces, enabling seamless data movement at speeds of up to 64Gb/s. It also features advanced security measures like PCIe Integrity and Data Encryption (IDE) and integrated memory encryption, addressing growing concerns over data protection in edge and enterprise environments.
Engineered for longevity, the MoP devices offer a 15+ year lifecycle, mitigating risks tied to high-bandwidth memory (HBM) supply chain disruptions. This makes them particularly attractive for mission-critical and AI-driven systems requiring stable, long-term deployment.
