Anthropic employees leverage Claude Tag in Slack to save hours on tasks like data analysis, legal reviews, and customer support.
Anthropic’s Claude Tag, an AI-powered Slack integration, is transforming internal workflows by automating labor-intensive tasks like data analysis, legal reviews, and customer support. Introduced on June 23, 2026, and currently in public beta, Claude Tag allows users to tag @Claude in Slack threads, enabling it to perform tasks using shared context and connected tools.
Teams at Anthropic have reported significant productivity gains since adopting Claude Tag. For instance, during a recent feature launch, Hema Thanki, a product marketer, turned a 15-message Slack thread into a polished two-page customer-ready document in just 45 minutes. Claude not only drafted the material but also verified its accuracy using internal and public resources, saving hours of manual effort.
In another example, Steph Soderborg from the product strategy team consolidated months of customer feature requests scattered across Slack channels in about 26 minutes. She later tasked Claude with analyzing a week’s worth of product feedback, condensing 120 raw findings into 23 open issues and 14 resolved ones, a task she estimated would have taken a full week manually.
The legal team is also seeing major efficiency gains. Molly Villagra, a product counsel, set up a dedicated Slack channel where Claude Tag performs preliminary reviews of marketing collateral. By spotting potential legal and factual issues, Claude reduced the review cycle from a day or more to just 30 minutes per asset. Molly has even implemented a feedback loop, enabling Claude to improve its instructions based on weekly counsel reviews.
Claude Tag’s utility lies in its ability to integrate seamlessly into Slack workflows, leveraging existing organizational data while adhering to strict access controls. According to Anthropic, Claude operates under a managed identity, with privacy and spend limits configurable by administrators. It’s available on Team and Enterprise plans, with billing tied to organization-wide usage for channel tagging and individual accounts for direct messages.
As companies increasingly adopt AI to optimize operations, Anthropic’s internal use of Claude Tag showcases its potential to handle complex tasks that require both automation and human judgment. With its public beta rollout, teams outside Anthropic can now explore how Claude Tag could drive similar efficiencies in their own organizations.
