Anthropic released a Claude for Nonprofits plugin with workflow tools, added nonprofit support features and said more than 25,000 nonprofits now use Claude.
Anthropic said it is releasing a new Claude for Nonprofits plugin, adding tools built with about 30 nonprofit organizations as it broadens its support for the sector. The company said the update is designed to help small teams set up Claude with their own policies and context, support fundraising work from research through reporting, and take on administrative tasks that can stretch limited staff.
Evidence and context
In a post published on Oct. 26, 2026, Anthropic said the plugin is the first of several nonprofit-focused releases it plans to develop with organizations in the sector. The company said the new set of skills and connectors was built with roughly 30 nonprofits spanning education, economic mobility, health, humanitarian response and related areas. It added that the plugin is installed automatically for nonprofits on Team and Enterprise plans at no additional cost.
Anthropic said more than 25,000 nonprofits now use Claude, and that more than 75% of those organizations have fewer than 10 Claude seats. The company said that concentration among smaller organizations shaped the update, which it said is aimed at teams with limited staff and multiple responsibilities.
The new plugin includes tools in three areas: helping teams extend their capacity, setting up Claude responsibly with organizational context and governance, and supporting fundraising work. Anthropic said the fundraising features can help users research donors, foundations, companies and open grants with cited sources; review RFPs for eligibility and requirements; draft proposals and grant reports from internal material; and prepare donor updates and stewardship plans.
For responsible deployment, Anthropic said Claude can map where an organization stores donor data, grant files, finances and policies, then use that map for later tasks. The company also said staff can ask whether a use is permitted under an organization’s AI policy and receive an answer based on that policy. Anthropic said administrators control access and connectors, and that it does not train its models on nonprofit data by default.
The company also pointed to several prior nonprofit offerings, including discounts of up to 75%, connectors for Blackbaud, Candid and Benevity, and a free AI Fluency course built with GivingTuesday. It said that during the United Nations General Assembly in September it introduced a roughly 90% discount for verified nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries, bringing standard Team seats to $3 per user per month.
Anthropic said it is also planning to extend Claude Corps, its program placing early-career fellows in U.S. nonprofits, through a partnership with Taproot. The company said Claude Corps is placing 1,000 fellows in at least 400 U.S. nonprofits. It also listed partners including Accenture, Boston Consulting Group, The Bridgespan Group, Civis Analytics, Deloitte, fusionSpan, Idealist Consulting, Myridius, SapienAI, Slalom, v4c.ai and Vera Solutions.
The announcement comes as Anthropic filed for an IPO on Oct. 26, 2026, according to Associated Press reporting cited in the supplied material. That filing and the nonprofit product expansion were both described on the same day, though the source material does not say the two moves are directly linked.
Anthropic said two webinars are scheduled for Nov. 10 and Nov. 12 for admins and staff using Claude for Nonprofits. The source material does not provide further timing for the planned Taproot expansion beyond saying it is in development.
