Anthropic debuts Claude for Financial Advisors, integrating with major tools like Schwab, BlackRock, and Addepar to save time and boost client service.

Anthropic has unveiled a specialized version of its AI assistant, Claude, tailored for financial advisors. The new offering, announced on September 14, 2026, integrates with major custodial platforms, CRMs, portfolio tools, and compliance systems, aiming to reduce the administrative burden on advisors and free up more time for client-facing work.

Financial advisors reportedly spend just 16% of their time in client meetings, according to Kitces research, with the rest consumed by preparation, planning, and documentation. Claude for Financial Advisors addresses this by connecting directly to widely-used platforms like Charles Schwab, Addepar, BlackRock, and Envestnet. Advisors can now consolidate client information, analyze portfolios, and draft reports in one place, significantly reducing manual effort.

Key Features and Integrations

The new tools include “connectors” that integrate Claude with systems such as:

Charles Schwab: Access custodial data, including client balances, positions, and transaction history.
BlackRock: Leverage institutional-grade portfolio analytics and model portfolios via BlackRock’s Advisor Center.
Addepar: Gain insights into portfolio data across public and private markets.
Wealth.com: Aggregate estate and tax planning data into structured summaries.
Orion: Streamline household reviews and client meeting preparation.

Claude also introduces task-specific “skills” that automate workflows like pre-meeting preparation, compliance checks, portfolio rebalancing, and post-meeting follow-ups. For example, the AI can draft summaries from client conversations or flag portfolios that deviate from target allocations, leaving the judgment and final decisions to the advisor.

Compliance and Governance First

Given the regulatory complexities of the financial sector, Anthropic has built Claude to comply with oversight requirements. Outputs such as client summaries, investment recommendations, and compliance reviews are subject to human approval. The integration also supports audit logs and documentation workflows, aligning with SEC guidelines for AI governance in financial services.

Implications for the Industry

Anthropic’s foray into wealth management underscores the growing role of AI in financial services. By reducing the time spent on administrative tasks, firms can expand their capacity to serve more clients. This aligns with a broader industry trend: the use of AI to tackle operational inefficiencies while maintaining human oversight for critical decision-making.

Anthropic, valued at $965 billion as of May 2026, has been deepening its partnerships in the financial sector. Earlier this year, the company launched Claude agents for tasks like financial modeling, audit reviews, and compliance workflows. The new financial advisor tools are another step in strengthening its foothold on Wall Street.

Getting Started

Claude for Financial Advisors is available now for firms with Enterprise licenses. Advisors can install the plugin via Anthropic’s Cowork platform and follow a guided setup to connect their tools. Firms signing up by the end of September 2026 may also qualify for a one-time usage credit.
