Runway’s DIFFUSE connects AI-native creatives with brands, studios, and agencies. Build portfolios, get discovered, and drive AI-enabled media innovation.
Runway unveiled DIFFUSE, a new platform designed to connect AI-native creative talent with brands, agencies, and studios. Officially launched on September 22, 2026, DIFFUSE offers a curated space for creatives to showcase portfolios and for companies to directly hire professionals fluent in AI-enabled media production.
According to Runway, the platform addresses a growing demand for creative professionals adept at leveraging frontier AI tools. Internal research by the company analyzed over 1,000 creative job postings across nearly 400 companies, revealing that 17% now call for AI-related skills. Among these, Runway’s generative AI tools for video are reportedly the most requested by hiring companies.
DIFFUSE builds on Runway’s broader strategy to support AI-driven media production. The company, known for its generative AI video tools, initially launched a talent network in December 2024 aimed at filmmakers and creatives utilizing AI in storytelling. The rebranded and expanded DIFFUSE platform now acts as a hybrid marketplace, enabling studios, brands, and agencies to discover and collaborate with AI-driven talent.
For creatives: DIFFUSE allows artists, filmmakers, and production companies to build profiles, host portfolios, and showcase AI-integrated works. The platform is designed to highlight innovative uses of AI in creative workflows, positioning talent to meet the increasing industry demand for expertise in generative media tools.
For hiring entities: Brands, agencies, and studios can directly search for and connect with top-tier AI-driven creatives. This streamlined approach aims to facilitate hiring in a rapidly evolving media landscape where AI expertise is becoming a critical differentiator.
Runway framed the launch as a direct response to industry feedback. “There’s a dominant narrative that AI is displacing creative workers,” the company stated. “While workflows are changing, a new creative workforce is emerging—one driven by those who have mastered AI tools to achieve remarkable results.”
The platform’s rollout comes at a time of significant transformation in creative industries. As AI reshapes traditional roles, companies are restructuring teams and creating new positions to integrate AI capabilities. Runway’s move to position DIFFUSE as both a talent showcase and hiring tool aligns with the accelerating adoption of generative AI in media production.
