Stellar's XLM Leads Monthly Crypto Rally With 50% Surge as Tokenized Assets Pile In

Key Takeaways

What’s Driving the Move

Stellar’s XLM has been one of the strongest performers among large-cap tokens this week, with the rally drawing fresh attention to the payments-focused network. Crypto data aggregators described XLM as leading this week’s crypto rally and pegged its seven-day gain at more than 36%.

The token changed hands at a local high of $0.25 during the run, with traders eyeing the $0.30 level as the next test, citing positive funding rates and bullish derivatives positioning. Even more crucially, backers argue the move is not just about price. Instead, they point to a wave of institutional and real-world asset activity building on Stellar as the substance behind the rally.

Stellar recently enabled access to tokenized U.S. Treasuries and AAA-rated collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) through the decentralized exchange Sushi, broadening institutional exposure to onchain yield products. The network’s distributed real-world asset ( RWA) value has climbed to about $2.22 billion, growing nearly 30% in a month, according to industry data.

Long-term supporters also highlight Stellar’s ties to established financial names, including Visa, Paypal and Franklin Templeton, as evidence of real-world utility rather than pure speculation. Bitcoin.com News reported earlier this month that Stellar’s momentum has at times outpaced XRP, with XLM nearly doubling since the network’s tie-up with the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and lifting its market capitalization toward $8.5 billion.

The payments story extends to stablecoins as well, given that Moneygram tapped into Stellar’s digital suite recently, giving 60 million users access to a self-custodial dollar stablecoin, a deal that routes activity (and fees paid in XLM) through the network. Each transaction requires XLM for fees and minimum reserves, tying real usage to demand for the token.

Assessing the Future

The combination of price momentum and tokenization news has revived a familiar bull case, i.e. Stellar is finally becoming the primary venue for institutional assets moving onchain. Even still, the gains follow a brutal year for altcoins, and XLM remains well below prior highs. The rally also leans heavily on a narrative regarding real-world asset tokenization, one that has yet to prove it can sustain demand through a broader downturn.

For now, the token sits atop the weekly leaderboard, powered as much by tokenized Treasuries as by trader enthusiasm.
